Proactive Initiatives to Drive Change

In response to the ongoing ESG trends and global companies' advocating the importance of social responsibility, SSSTC is commited to conserving the ecological system through the governance and promotion of the company's sustainable environment initiatives.

From the mountains, forests, fields, oceans, and daily practices, SSSTC is dedicated to promoting environmental and ecological protection. In order to fulfill the key goals of "SDG13 Climate Action" and "SDG15 Life on Land", we have been working with the Taiwan Environmental Information Association to promote various ecological conservation projects, and continue to pay attention to ecological and environmental issues, and volunteer for habitat maintenance at the Albe Farm of Shihmen. We called on SSSTC volunteers to change into frocks and roll up their sleeves despite the cold and heavy winter rain and used their hands to remove a large piece of Salvinia molesta, an aquatic weed.

In the early days, Pistia stratiotes and Salvinia molesta were introduced as horticultural plants, but later spread into the natural environment due to negligence. Their strong ability to adapt and reproduce has allowed them to spread throughout Taiwan's waters, making it difficult to eradicate and affecting the viability of native species. The removal will increase the biodiversity of the aquatic environment and provide months of respite for the plants and animals in the wetland, while protecting the habitat of the Taipei frog, a rare class II protected species. We hope that in the spring of the Year of the Rabbit, the Taipei frogs will continue to breed.
